A Trip to the City: Bulova Revives the 70’s “Parking Meter” Chronograph

Jul 21, 2023

Between 1970 and 1974 Bulova produced a number of distinctive chronograph watches that are sought after by vintage watch enthusiasts today. One of them was the “31008-6W” timepiece, also known as the “Parking Meter.”

A re-edition is now being added to the brand’s Archive Series collection that revisits the eye-catching shape of the stainless steel case and the signature dial configuration, resembling a parking meter. The Bulova Parking Meter Chronograph is further distinguished by the unusual placement of its pushers, forming a bullhead feature – 2 at the top of the case, with the crown at 6 o’ clock and a tachymeter scale on the flange.

The watch is powered by a quartz 0S21 Miyota chronograph caliber with a dual-time feature set via the crown and attached to a supple brown leather strap with blue-grey stitching. It is a limited edition of individually numbered 5,000 pieces, available first on Windup Watch Shop and Bulova’s official website for $595.
