Destination Ski: Junghans Introduces 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon

Jul 07, 2023

Junghans is the Official Timing Partner of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships for the third time in a row. The brand is celebrating this sporting event with two limited special editions, one automatic chronograph and one equipped with a quartz engine. The self-winding 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon evokes the bold style of the 1970s and highlights its dynamic appeal with an expressive yellow hue. This bold color makes for a nice and highly contrasting backdrop for the two counters located at 12 and 6 o’clock. The dial is complemented by a color-coordinated date indication at 3 o’clock and a tachymeter scale on its flange.

In the style of a hand-held stopwatch, the push-pieces are located on the top of the oval stainless steel case, which has a diameter 45.5mm by 41.0mm and is water-resistant to 10 bar.

Well protected behind a closed and engraved case back beats the automatic caliber J880.5.

The Junghans 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon sits on a yellow leather strap and has a price tag of approximately $2,780 when converted to USD. It is limited to 150 pieces.
